Improve the New Salesforce UI with Greasemonkey (via TehNrd)

Better Salesforce.com UI

Jason over at TehNrd blogged before about how the new Salesforce.com UI should look like. Now he shows us how to use Greasemonkey to change the appearance of the Salesforce.com UI based on his feedback; Greasemonkey is a great tool to quickly prototype changes to web applications (see also Setup Enhancer for Salesforce.com), I hope to have time to play with it myself.

“My first stab at changing the UI was also a bit bold, too bold. I took my changes of the UI to the extreme to really emphasize the direction I think the new UI needs to move. In reality the changes needed are much softer. What it came down to in the end was eliminating the massive amount of white space in the record detail section and bringing back the old style page block section separators”.

Setup Enhancer for Salesforce for Greasemonkey

Setup Enhancer for Salesforce.com

Since Jeff blogged about the Setup Enhancer for Salesforce I’ve been using it on a daily basis. It’s definitely a Salesforce administrator’s new best friend.

“[It] Adds controls to the top of the Salesforce setup sidebar to filter, collapse and expand the setup tree, and adds a handle to show/hide the sidebar”.
