I have a custom button that passes Opportunity fields data into a custom Object. It worked fine up until 2 weeks ago ( it seems to coincide with the latest SF Upgrade). Now it works for some opportunities but not for other.
The reason I found is that we have a custom long text field which if it is longer than 570 characters (with spaces) it does not work, I get “URL does not exist” error.

Any ideas?

If I am trying to create a custom link from one custom object to another what is the object code to use for this? The 2 objects are called implementations and evaluations. I want the implementation custom link to be linked to the specific implementation on the evaluation page. Not sure how to do this?

I have tried this example to get some information passed from the Opportunites to a custom object called Proposals. I can only get it to pass the Opportunity name which I have made a master detail reationship with the oportunity name that appears in the proposals form. Everything else fails. I have had success with this in the past, but just came back into salesforce to make some modifications and custom objects and nothing seems to work the same.

Can someone clue me in on what has changed and what the new methods are?

#5 doesn’t work, I think that SF mutated away from that actually working when creating a new object.

I can add that type of parameter when updating ownership and it works. Just not when creating a new object (be it new account or new case.)

This doesn’t seem to work when trying to create a new opportunity from a custom object. Any idea why?

This is great, I’m using this info to make a “New Contract” button on the Opportunity detail page that will pre-fill Contract info when the Opportunity has been won.

However, this does not work for Multi-Select Picklists unless there is only one value picked. Do you have any ideas on how to make it work?

this is great. however i cannot seem to get the lookup fields to be automatically filled in. is there a reason why?

Your article did a lot good to me. One of my requirements is entirely based on it. However, I just fear that deploying my app in another org might change the field id and my app may not work. Is there any way to get field id by using field name (e.g. String fldId=getFieldIdByName(‘Case.My_Custom_Object__c’);)?
